Obligatory Who am I?

Hello dear reader,

My name is Chistian Popov, but everybody calls me Chris.

Christian P... Chis P.... ChrisP... get it. I'll see myself out.

Everybody doesn't hate me but I'm working on it. :) TL;DR

I've been working in information security for a few years but I feel I don't know all that much. Major imposter syndrome. Lo and behold I made this blog to test things out. Prove, to myself, that I can actually do things and help other people out. TL;DR over.

I guess this is my first post, like the first slide of the presentation. I guess I'm supposed to give some credential or a bit of back story. (You could look me up on social media places if you don't want to read it all)

Here goes:

I'm based in Sofia, Bulgaria - that is in Eastern Europe. No, we don't ride bears or drink blood, other people do that. Although some are true. I'll let you figure out which ones.

I have been working in the information security field for a few years now.

I spent my first year, working for a big American company in Bulgaria, as a Level 1 or Triage analyst in the SOC team. That's where I met some wonderful people (writing this so that they don't kill me when they read it.) who showed the bulk of what I know now.

I must have done something right. Somebody decided to make a Senior Analyst and appoint me to the SIEM tuning team. I did some tuning with the other 3 amazing guys in the team. At one point I decided I wanted a change, so I moved to a different, a lot smaller, company. A lot smaller, but very capable, team. I've been there for the past 2 years now and it has its ups and downs so I've been doing what I can. Let's test things out and learn what we can.
